A toast to honesty, a virtue fair
For most our lives we lie in seeking dreams
We wake in hope, and chase away despair
For we are not, at all, earnest, it seems
Your love arises from the name I picked
For earnestness is what a girl would choose
My brother dear is really very sick
But now his life no longer has a use.
But Ernest, he was lost and found again
His life, a lie, was all completely true
Is there a moral? Yes, perhaps one can
Be lucky like the lucky Ernest too.
A toast to you, dear sacred honesty
For life is nothing but a comedy.
